Charity match in Reiss' memory

2:52pm Thursday 2nd September 2010

A CHARITY tennis event in memory of a teenager who died last year has taken place in Brentwood.

The Reiss Morgan Memorial Mixed Doubles Tournament was held at the Clearview Health and Raquet Club and raised £400 for St Luke’s Hospice, Basildon, where the 15-year-old stayed before his death.

Mark Morgan, Reiss’s father, won the inaugural event with his playing partner Tracy White, calling his victory “the icing on the cake”.

Mr Morgan added: “The support we have received from the hospice, since losing Reiss, has been fantastic.

“Both Reiss’s mother Leigh and I have received individual bereavement counselling from their trained counsellors.

“Without their constant support, I don’t think either of us could have got through the past 12 months.”
